Today marks the end of the Cambodian Water Festival (Bon Om Touk), an annual boat-racing festival on the Tonle Sap river in honor of the final days of the country's rainy season.
The largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia, the Tonle Sap is famous for the numerous "floating villages" that occupy it's perimeter, the site of several Room to Read School Libraries. In such a resource-scare environment, the floating libraries we established there have breathed new life into schools like Phat Sanday Primary School, and vastly increased the resources available to the students.
Our Cambodia team sent along the a few photos of the Phat Sanday Primary School Library (below) to help us celebrate the Water Festival, Room to Read style. Take a look.
